How Nutritional Therapy Works

Initial Assessment

The first consultation requires that you complete a detailed questionnaire that will cover important details in your health. This includes areas such as:

- Health goals

- Current diagnosis and medications

- Symptoms and severity

- Past/family medical history

- Digestive function

- Meal preparations/diet

- Exercise and lifestyle

- Sleep and stress

This session is mainly an investigation and information-gathering session where I will spend a lot of time asking questions and taking notes.

Goal Setting

Your nutrition plan will be designed with your goals in mind, so it is important to think about what is most important to you.

Throughout your sessions, we will work on breaking down your goals into smaller, more actionable stages, which we can use to track your progress and that are manageable and sustainable in the long term.

Personalized Nutrition Plan

Using the information gathered in previous stages, I will draft a nutrition and lifestyle programme to meet your personal requirements and preferences.

This will include:

- Nutrient specific dietary recommendations.

- Macronutrient distribution.

- Specific additions for optimal digestive function (if required).

- Supplement recommendations (if required).

- Lifestyle recommendations and techniques (for exercise, sleep, stress etc.).

- Optional: functional testing recomendation for further investigation.

Implementation

This part will mainly be up to you to give this programme the energy and attention to be successful. However, I can help by providing tips for dealing with daily challenges or strategies for managing stress where needed.

You will also have access to my online platform, via Nutrium, which allows you to track your food intake and monitor your progress.

Follow-up

Follow-up sessions are a chance for us to review your programme and make adjustments where needed to help you stay on track and to stay motivated. We will monitor any changes in your symptoms and body composition, where needed, and celebrate the wins when we see improvements.
Supplements and dietary changes will also be reviewed at these sessions.

There may also be parts of the plan that you simply don't like and would like to change, and that is perfectly fine. This is your plan, and it needs to suit you if we want it to stick long-term.

I look forward to these sessions because there is always a great change in clients when they start giving themselves the attention they deserve. I love to see you glow!
