The Nutritional Therapy Process

Discovery Call 

 

The discovery call is an important step that allows you to ask questions and to determine if nutritional therapy is a good fit for you. At the same time, this opportunity allows me to learn a little bit about you, as well as your goals and concerns, and to explain the process and following stages. 

Overall, this process helps establish a strong foundation for a successful therapeutic relationship.


I will only suggest we work together if I believe it's a good fit, and there is no pressure to book anything after this call. This is simply a friendly chat. :) 

Initial Assessment

Our first meeting will last approximately 60-75 min and requires that you complete a detailed questionnaire that will cover important information regarding your health. The questionnaire will be sent to you upon booking your first session and must be returned 48 hours before the start of the consultation. 

This initial session is mainly an investigation and information-gathering session where I will spend a lot of time asking questions and taking notes.

Areas we will explore: 

- Health goals

- Current diagnosis and medications

- Symptoms and severity

- Past/family medical history

- Digestive function

- Meal preparations/diet

- Exercise and lifestyle 

​- Sleep and stress 

Goal Setting 

 

Your nutrition plan will be crafted specifically with your unique goals in mind. It's essential to reflect on what truly matters to you, whether it's a specific health concern or overall health improvement.

Throughout our sessions, we will collaborate to break down your objectives into smaller, actionable stages. This approach not only helps us track your progress effectively but also ensures that the steps we take are manageable and sustainable for the long term, setting you up for lasting success.

Personalized Nutrition Plan

 

I will carefully analyse the information collected during our earlier discussions to create a tailored nutrition and lifestyle programme just for you.

This programme will align with your personal needs, preferences, and goals, ensuring it is both effective and enjoyable. By considering your unique circumstances, we will integrate practical strategies and tools that fit seamlessly into your routine. Together, we will work towards achieving your health and wellness in a sustainable way.

This will include: 

- Nutrient specific dietary recommendations.

- Macronutrient distribution.

- Specific food additions for optimal digestive function (if required).

- Supplement recommendations (if required).

- Lifestyle recommendations and techniques (for exercise, sleep, stress etc.).

- Optional: functional testing recomendation for further investigation. ​​

Follow-up 

 

Follow-up sessions are a wonderful opportunity to delve deeper into your programme, ensuring it aligns perfectly with your goals.

During these sessions, we'll evaluate changes in your symptoms, celebrating every victory, big or small, as we go along. It's also the perfect time to revisit your supplements and dietary choices, making adjustments that support sustainable long-term improvement.
This is your personalised journey, so f there are aspects of the plan that don't resonate with you, it’s absolutely okay to modify them.
These sessions can sometimes take more of a therapeutic approach, as we discuss the barriers that you faced and obstacles which made it difficult for you to adhere to the plan. Together we will work to simplify the dietary changes and create strategies that build resilience.
